Club paddles

The paddles that Mike has refinished are sanded (as appropriate to the damage incurred) to 220-grit, stained (if necessary with Klingspoor #HS3289 Transfast Water-soluble Dye), then get three (3) coats of Helmsman Spar-Varnish.

Rigging

When rigged in traditional fashion, i.e., not quick-strapped, it is recommended to use 3/16″ cotton rigging rope/cord (aka canoe-twist cotton cord). If unavailable, 3/16″ poly-cotton will suffice.

Approximately 80′ of this rigging rope is required to rig the ‘iakos to the wa’a and 50’ to rig the ama to the ‘iakos.
